Each active contractor is classified by whether HVAC Hunting can receive automatic credit, must capture the homeowner first, or has no verified referral-credit path yet.
HVAC Hunting currently tracks 42 active contractor referral routes: 1 Tier 1 automatic-credit route, 20 Tier 2 capture-first routes, and 21 Tier 3 contractors with no verified credit path yet.

/find-a-pro must receive the real homeowner request before HVAC Hunting submits a vendor referral form or sends referral instructions.
Record The Attribution Payload
Store contractor slug, credit tier, route type, submission mode, source page URL, lead timestamp, homeowner consent, name, phone, email, ZIP, and service need.
Submit Only Real Opted-In Leads
Tier 2 vendor forms, emails, and phone calls should use only the actual homeowner information captured through HVAC Hunting.
Preserve Proof And Follow Up
Record confirmation screens, vendor emails, call notes, and follow-up timestamps so credited jobs can be reconciled later.
Endpoint status: /find-a-pro now uses a live FormSubmit AJAX endpoint by default, and NEXT_PUBLIC_LEAD_FORM_ENDPOINT can override it for Formspree, CRM, or webhook intake. Keep paid or high-intent Tier 2 traffic paused until the endpoint confirmation email has been accepted and a test lead lands in the inbox.
